Series History
Thursday will mark the 13th time the teams have met, as Miami holds a 7-3-2 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met on Oct. 11, 2015 in Coral Gables, Fla., and the Pack suffered a 3-2 loss.
A win Thursday would snap a nine-match winless streak against the Hurricanes, as the Pack's last win versus Miami was on Sept. 21, 2006 at home (1-0 result).
Last Time Out
The team tied 1-1 with No. 13 Florida State last Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla. Sydney Wootten made a career-high 16 saves to help her team earn a crucial point in ACC play.
Taylor Porter came up clutch for the Wolfpack with a tally as the clock ran out in the second half to send the match to overtime.
The result marked the first time since 2000 that the team has beaten or tied the Seminoles.
Wootten Named ACC Player Of The Week
Thanks to her stellar performance last weekend, Wootten was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Her 16 saves were three shy of the program record for the most in a single game, as well as an individual conference high this season and the most by an individual since 2014.
Spread The Wealth
NC State has scored 29 goals this season off of 38 assists for 96 total points. Seven different players have scored multiple goals this season while nine have tallied at least one goal and assist on the year.
The Pack currently ranks third in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA in total assists, and third in the conference and 26th nationally in total points.
RPI
NC State moved up three spots in this week's RPI to 15th. The team's overall strength of schedule has been rated the eighth-toughest in the NCAA.
Final Stretch
Including Miami, just three more matches remain on the Pack's regular season schedule. The team will play Louisville, who is receiving votes for this week's national polls, on Sunday, then travel to No. 6 Virginia Oct. 25.
NC State has already played seven teams ranked or receiving votes this year.
Scouting Miami
Miami is coming off of a 1-1 draw with No. 8 Boston College last Saturday at home. Its two wins in ACC play were over Syracuse (1-0) and Pittsburgh (3-2).
The team has scored 18 goals, as Gudrun Haralz has scored a team-best seven and owns 16 points on the year. Mallory Olsson, Jamie Brunworth and Michelle Giamportone have also scored multiple goals in 2018.
Goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce has played all 15 games and has compiled a 1.47 goals-against average. She has given up 23 goals this year and has earned a pair of shutouts.
