Women’s Soccer Wraps Up Road Swing Saturday At #13 Florida State

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team will wrap up a four-match road swing Saturday when it travels to No. 13 Florida State. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, Fla., and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The teams were supposed to meet Friday at 7 p.m., but due to the threat of Hurricane Michael the match was postponed to the following day.
The Wolfpack enters the matchup with a 9-4-2 (2-3-1 ACC) record, while the Seminoles are 10-3-1 (3-3-0 ACC) on the season. This will be NC State's fifth top 25 opponent in 2018.
Series History
Friday will mark the 24th all-time meeting between the teams, as the Seminoles own an 18-3-2 advantage in the series.
Last year NC State traveled to Tallahassee on Sept. 29 and dropped a 1-0 result.
Last Time Out
The team suffered a 2-0 loss on Sunday afternoon to then-No. 11 Boston College at Newton Soccer Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass. BC scored a pair of goals in the 35th and 37th minutes, and despite second half adjustments the Wolfpack was unable to recover.
Final Stretch
NC State is entering the final stretch of regular season play, as just four contests remain on its schedule. Two of those opponents are nationally ranked (No. 6 Virginia and No. 13 Florida State).
King, Walkling Featured On TDS Midseason Top-100 Players List
Tziarra King and Ricci Walkling have been featured on TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top-100 Players List, as released by the organization on Monday morning. King checked in at No. 25 while Walkling is listed at No. 69.
The two have played a combined 2,526 minutes for the Pack so far this season, as King has started all 15 matches and Walkling has earned 14 starts.
King is currently among the top three of the ACC standings with eight goals and 21 points, while Walkling has tallied two goals and five assists to rank fourth on the team with nine points.
Scouting Florida State
The Noles are coming off of a 2-1 win over Wake Forest on Sunday in Tallahassee for its third win in ACC play. FSU has also picked up wins over conference foes Notre Dame (4-0) and Virginia Tech (3-0).
Deyna Castellanos and Yujie Zhao lead the squad with five goals and 13 points apiece, as the team has scored a combined 29 goals and tallied 84 points. Brooke Bollinger has played 1,271 minutes in goal for the Noles and owns a .42 goals-against average, allowing just six goals scored by opponents this year. She has collected eight shutouts and combined for one with Caroline Jeffers.
