Igor Saveljic Moves On At #TulsaITA Qualifiers

TULSA, Okla. – NC State's Igor Saveljic earned a first-round singles win in the qualifying draw of the 2018 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Monday. With the win, the Wolfpack senior will move on to the round of 64 as he aims to earn one of 16 qualifying spots into the All-American main draw.
Igor, who is ranked No. 71 nationally in singles, dropped the first set to Brookes by a 6-2 score but stormed back to win the second frame 6-3 to force a third set. He went on to take the final set 7-6 (11-9) to advance in singles competition.
TUESDAY'S SCHEDULE:
Igor is set to face Duke's Spencer Furman in the round of 64 Tuesday morning. The winner of that match will advance to play in the round of 32 later in the day and would need a win in that final round to qualify for the ITA All-American main draw.
Ivan will compete in the singles consolation bracket on Tuesday.
