Women’s Soccer Hands ECU First Loss Of Season

RALEIGH – Led by Tziarra King's dominant performance on the field, the NC State women's soccer team handed East Carolina its first loss of the season on Thursday evening at Dail Soccer Stadium with a 2-1 result.
The Wolfpack improves to 5-1-0, its best start since 2013, while the Pirates fall to 4-1-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
King scored both of the squad's goals, as all four of her shots in the contest were on goal. The first came in the 21st minute on a shot from 10 yards that finished inside the far right post off of a double assist by Taylor Porter and Paige Griffiths.
The Pirates' Chentay Warnes scored the equalizer in the 35th minute from 25 yards, as her shot found the left part of the net.
King's game-winning goal came in the 57th minute off of Maxine Blackwood's assist as she made a strike from the top left corner of the box to the right corner of the net.
UP NEXT
NC State will continue its home stand Sunday when it welcomes Davidson to Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. and the match will be broadcasted on the ACC Network Extra.
