Pack Defeats Wildcats 4-0

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team picked up its sixth win of the season on Sunday afternoon at Dail Soccer Stadium, defeating Davidson 4-0.
Improving to 6-1-0, the program's best start since 2011, this marked the Wolfpack's fourth shutout of the season while the Wildcats move to 1-6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pack scored two of its goals within the first 10 minutes of the contest. Kia Rankin got the team on the scoreboard in the third minute with a shot from 15 yards that finished inside the far right post off of a double assist by Hannah Keogh and Ricci Walkling.
Tziarra King doubled the score in the seventh minute with a shot from 20 yards that found the far right corner of the net thanks to a Paige Griffiths assist. This marked her sixth goal in seven matches.
Rachel Cox scored the final two goals of the contest. She gave the Pack a 3-0 lead heading into the half with a shot from 10 yards to the far left post in the 43rd minute, and was assisted by Frances Henshall. In the 79th minute she completed the shutout win with a strike from six yards that found the left part of the net on a Naomi Powell assist.
UP NEXT
NC State will open its ACC slate Sept. 15 when it takes on Virginia at Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
