Women’s Golf Tied For Third Through Two Rounds At Ocean Course Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Despite the windy seaside conditions at the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C., the NC State women's golf team put together rounds of 294 and 293 on Monday to sit in a tie for third out of 16 teams at the Ocean Course Invitational.

With a 36-hole total of 587, the Wolfpack sits just three strokes back from tournament leader Ole Miss. Florida State (585) is in second while UNC-Chapel Hill shares third place with NC State.

India Clyburn (70-75) and Laura Kowohl (72-73) are tied for fifth place on the individual leaderboard with scores of 145, and Naomi Ko (146) additionally sits among the top 10 in ninth with rounds of 74 and 72.

Crystal Huang is tied for 29th after charting rounds of 78 and 73 for a 151 total, and Cecily Overbey (163) rounded out the top five for the Pack at T73rd. After an 85 in the first round she bounced back in round two with a 78.

NC State will conclude play Tuesday at the Ocean Course Invitational, as the squad will be paired with competitors from Florida and Wake Forest in an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
