#PackXC to Face Nation's Top Talent at Notre Dame Invite

11 nationally ranked teams are set to compete at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The NC State men's and women's cross country teams are in South Bend, Ind. this week for the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The meet will take place Friday, Sept. 29, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
1:45 p.m. – Men's Blue Race (5-Mile)
2:30 p.m. – Open Race (Women – 5K/Men – 5-Mile)

Following the Blue Races, NC State graduate students Brendan Johnson and Aubrey Myjer will make their season debuts as they run the 5-Mile Open Race.
On the women's side, No. 7 NC State will race against six nationally ranked programs, highlighted by the No. 1 team in the country, Colorado. Other ranked teams competing include No. 3 New Mexico, No. 9 Arkansas, No. 12 Notre Dame, No. 26 Ohio State and No. 27 Utah.
The men's Blue 5-mile race features four nationally ranked teams, as No. 30 NC State will face off against No. 4 Colorado, No. 11 Washington State and No. 13 Southern Utah. A full breakdown of teams competing in the meet can be found here.
The Wolfpack women dominated the home meet, placing first overall with six runners finishing inside the top 10 individually. Beth Taye, Elly Henes and Dominique Clairmonte went 1-2-3 at the home meet, followed by Alyssa Rudawsky (6th), Ryen Frazier (9th) and Bianca Bishop (10th). True freshmen Julia Zachgo and Isabel Zimmermann ran unattached at the meet, notching eighth and 17th-place finishes, respectively.

LAST TIME OUT
The Pack opened the season Friday, Sept. 15 as NC State hosted the Adidas XC Challenge. In the men's 6K, Wolfpack junior Philip Hall raced unattached as he claimed second place individually. NC State's top-five finishers in uniform were Elijah Moskowitz (4th), Tanis Baldwin (5th), Ben Barrett (9th), Edwin Rutto (11th) and Joe Bistritz (17th). #PACKXC IN THE POLLS
NC State is one of 15 Division I programs with both men's and women's teams ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll. The women's team checked in at No. 7, while the men were chosen 30th in the country. Both squads will have a lot to prove this week as they face some of the nation's top talent at Notre Dame.UP NEXT
