Women’s Soccer Closes Non-Conference Slate With Western Carolina Sunday

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team (6-1-1) will face its final non-conference opponent of the season Sunday when it welcomes Western Carolina (3-4-1) to Dail Soccer Stadium.
Kickoff is 1 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack opened its conference slate on Friday evening when it hosted No. 5/3 Virginia in Raleigh, and battled to a 0-0 draw in double overtime. The result extended the Wolfpack's unbeaten streak to four matches.
Despite Virginia outshooting the Pack 21-5, NC State's defense was a key component in the result. Sydney Wootten played the full 110 minutes in goal, and was forced to make six saves in the contest for her third shutout of the season.
Tziarra King led the squad with two shots, one in the first half and one in the first overtime, while Hannah Keogh, Lulu Guttenberger and Taylor Porter recorded one apiece.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will mark the fourth time the teams have met in program history, as NC State leads 2-0-1 in the all-time series. The last time the teams met was on Sept. 11, 2014, at Dail Soccer Stadium, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Catamounts traveled to Campbell on Friday evening and earned a 4-3 victory over the Camels, marking its second consecutive win.
