Official ITA Press Release
Â
RALEIGH – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2017-18 Oracle/Division I Women's Collegiate Preseason Tennis Rankings on Tuesday and two members of the NC State women's tennis team found themselves among those ranked.
Â
Sophomore Anna Rogers was ranked No. 79 in singles, while Rogers and junior Claudia Wiktorin were ranked as the No. 26 doubles tandem.

Â
Head Coach Simon Earnshaw was pleased to see both Rogers & Wiktorin recognized by the ITA.
Â
"You never want to get carried away as preseason rankings are primarily based on what happened last season but very happy to see Anna receive recognition in singles and doubles," he said. "We thought she was close on several occasions last year in singles and this should be a confidence boost for her and the rest of the girls as we start fall play this week."
Â
The ACC was heavily represented, with six players named in the top 25 singles rankings and three inside the top 25-ranked doubles pairings. Five of the ten players named to the Freshmen-Newcomer rankings were also from ACC institutions
Â
The ITA will release its next set of rankings on Jan. 3
Â
Up Next:
NC State makes the short trip to Cary for the Duke Invitational from Sept. 15-17.
