Ko Concludes Showing At U.S. Women’s Amateur

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Junior Naomi Ko of the NC State women's golf team competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur this week at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
Ko earned an exemption after her sixth-place finish at the 2016 World Amateur Championship, and managed to reach match play. In stroke play she shot 71-74=145 (+1) to finished T20th, but fell in the round of 64 to Sophia Schubert 4&3.
The women's golf program has had at least one player qualify for the national event in four of the last five years (2013, '14, '16, '17).
