Three from @PackWrestle in Action at Junior World Team Trials

RALEIGH, N.C. – Three current members of the NC State wrestling team will be in action at the Junior World Team Trials this weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sophomore Nick Reenan (84 kg), and redshirt-freshmen Tariq Wilson (60 kg) and Hayden Hidlay (74 kg) will all be competing in freestyle on Friday.

All three earned their bids from their placement at the U.S. Open in late May.

Champions at the Junior World Team Trials will be selected to the USA Junior World Team which will compete at the Junior World Championships in Tampere, Finland in August.

Reenan was a 2017 NCAA Qualifier at 174 pounds as a freshman this past season for the Wolfpack. He went 20-13 on the season, including a perfect 10-0 in dual matches.

Hidlay and Wilson both redshirted this past season, but both will make an impact on the Pack's 2017-18 lineup. Hidlay was a combined 22-3 in open tournaments this past season, winning three. Wilson was 21-7 in six open tournaments, placing in the top-three in five.

Friday's action begins at 11 a.m. (ET) with the preliminary, quarterfinal, semifinal and consolation rounds. The best-of-three trials finals series will be contested Friday evening, beginning at 6 p.m. (ET).

In addition to the three in the Junior World Team Trials, former NC State All-Americans Nick Gwiazdowski and Tommy Gantt will be in action at the U.S. Freestyle World Team Trials on Saturday.
