
Softball To Host Louisville In Final Weekend Series

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will close out its regular season this weekend when it hosts Louisville in a three-game stand at Dail Stadium. The teams will play at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and will meet Sunday at 12 p.m. in the finale.
Sunday will be the program's senior day, and all three games will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.
The Wolfpack enters the weekend with a 17-34 (10-11 ACC) record and the Cardinals are 28-18 (11-8 ACC) this season.
PACK VS. CARDINALS HISTORY
Friday will mark the seventh time the teams have met, as Louisville holds a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series. Last season the squads played their first series as conference opponents at Ulmer Stadium on March 25-26, and the Pack suffered a sweep.
LAST TIME OUT
-NC State traveled to Boston College last weekend for a three-game stand, and dropped a 2-1 result. The Eagles took the first game with a 6-1 win, but the Wolfpack evened the series with a 4-1 victory on Saturday. In the rubber match BC took the series in a late 7-6 rally.
-Despite dropping the series the Wolfpack managed to clinch a spot in the 2017 ACC Championship, which will be held May 11-13 by UNC-Chapel Hill at Anderson Stadium.
GETTING ON BASE
Jade Caraway currently holds a nine-game streak of reaching base on a hit or walk, including a seven-game hitting streak. She additionally has had 19 multi-hit games as she leads the team with a .396 batting average.
TAKE A WALK
As a team NC State has drawn 146 walks this season to rank fifth in the conference standings. The Pack has drawn at least two walks in 10 of its last 11 games, including seven last Wednesday at Campbell.
PACK THREAT
-NC State holds a .303 clip and 120 hits with runners in scoring position, and has additionally tallied 110 runs and 104 RBIs against conference opponents to rank third in the standings.
-The Pack also holds a .358 clip with the bases loaded, tallying 19 hits in 53 at bats.
