Wolfpack Track Opens Competition at Bill Carson Invite

GREENVILLE, N.C. – NC State's throwers opened the Bill Carson Invitational, hosted by ECU, on Friday. The Pack competed in the hammer, discus and javelin throw and concluded the meet with four top-five finishes and three personal bests.

Hammer:
Lauren Evans highlighted the meet for the Pack with a win in the women's hammer throw. Evans nearly hit her personal best throwing 180'4" for the win. She won the event by almost 3', marking her second hammer throw win of the year.

On the men's side, Joshua Davis took second with a throw of 208'4.25".

Discus:
Davis followed up his second-place finish in the hammer throw with a personal best in the discus, throwing 162'5".

In the women's event, Alyssa Dunn led the Pack with a fifth-place finish and a throw of 141'4". Sharmani Hall added a seventh-place finish with a mark of 132'2.50".

Javelin:
Both of the Pack's javelin throwers set personal bests, as Grant Rivers finished seventh with a throw of 154'3.50" and Hannah Stokes added a throw of 106'9" to finish sixth overall in the women's event.
