NC State to Compete at Bill Carson Invite

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track and field team will continue its outdoor season with the Bill Carson Invite, hosted by ECU at Minges Family Field at Bate Foundation Track & Field Facility this Friday and Saturday.
The Wolfpack will compete in the scored meet against ECU, Coastal Carolina, The Citadel, Charlotte and Troy. In addition to competing for a team title, postseason qualification is still on the line, as the Pack gears up for its championship season.
What to Watch For:
NC State will compete in almost every event at the meet. The Pack's throwers will kick off the meet Friday at 10 a.m. Friday's action will consist of only throwing events, as NC State athletes will lineup for the hammer, javelin and discus throws.
On Saturday, NC State's jumpers will open the meet with the long jump and high jump, while its throwers will compete in the shot put.
The Pack will round out action on the track with its sprinters, hurdlers and mid-distance runners.
Theresa Enright and Rebekah Greengrass will make their steeplechase debuts and a new men's 4x100 team will also debut at the meet.
Additionally, Joshua Gandy (110m hurdles), Brandon McLean (100m) and Paisley Simmons (4x400) are all expected to make season debuts in their respective events.

NC State athletes are coming off strong performances last weekend. The Pack throwers and sprinters set strong marks at the Florida Relays and Sam Parsons concluded the weekend with the second-fastest 10,000m in school history at the Stanford Invitational.
Joshua Davis headlined the Florida Relays with a school record in the hammer throw, while Lauren Evans (hammer throw), Cravont Charleston (100m), Gabriele Cunningham (100m, 110m hurdles) and Lauren Evans (100m) all logged top-10 times in school history at the meet.
Entering the weekend, NC State has 23 marks that are in a regional qualifying position and 16 marks ranked top-five in the ACC.
