Kinneman Homers Twice in NC State Loss to #22 Florida State

Sophomore Brett Kinneman tallies first career multi-home run game
The teams will return to the field for game two of the series on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m.
NC State and Florida State were tied 2-2 after three innings and the Wolfpack took a 3-2 lead after plating a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Seminoles countered with two runs in the sixth to take a 4-3 advantage and pulled away from there.
Kinneman ignited the Wolfpack offense, as his solo home run in the third was the first run of the game for NC State. Stephen Pitarra drove in the other run in the frame with an RBI single up the middle.
Florida State pulled away in the seventh, but NC State countered in the bottom of the frame to narrow the deficit. Trailing 14-3, the Wolfpack scored four runs to cut the FSU lead to 14-7.
Kinneman left the yard for the second time on the day, as he crushed a 2-0 fastball over the left field wall for his fifth home run, second best on the team. The Wolfpack also scored a pair of runs on a wild pitch, as Pitarra raced home to score from third base and Will Wilson scored from second base.
The Seminoles added two runs in the ninth and went on to win the game, 16-7.
Senior Sean Adler started on the mound for the Wolfpack and pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs to go along with three strikeouts. His counterpart, Cole Sands went six innings for Florida State and yielded three earned runs to earn the win.
Game two of the series is slated for 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening at Doak Field at Dail Park, as No. 22 Florida State leads the three-game set, 1-0.
