Men’s Tennis Draws Virginia Tech to Open ACC Championship

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team will face Virginia Tech in its opening match of the 2017 ACC Championship, to be held this weekend at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
The Wolfpack enters the tournaments as the conference's ninth seed, and will be facing the eighth-seeded Hokies on Thursday at 10 a.m. The winner will advance to face the top seed, No. 1 Wake Forest on Friday.
The Wolfpack finished the regular season at 13-14 and 4-8 in conference action.
In the earlier match up this season, NC State narrowly fell at home to the Hokies 4-3. The Pack picked up a pair of singles wins over ranked Virginia Tech players, but dropped the doubles point to start which proved to be the difference.
NC State features a pair of ranked singles players - #76 Nick Horton and #119 Alexis Galarneau. The doubles squad of Galarneau and Michael Ogden are currently 48th nationally as well.
