RALEIGH - The NC State softball team concluded its series with Notre Dame on Saturday at Dail Stadium with a 5-2 loss.

The Wolfpack falls to 15-28 (8-7 ACC) on the season and the Irish improve to 26-15 (11-7 ACC).

Game Rewind
-Notre Dame struck first with Morgan Reed's two-run home run in the first inning. Karley Wester led off the contest with a walk and advanced to second on Ali Wester's sacrifice bunt.
-Tyler Ross knotted the game in the second with a 2-RBI single down the right field line, scoring Molly Martin and Macauley Prickett from second and third. Martin was hit-by-pitch with two outs and Prickett followed with an outfield single, then both advanced on a wild pitch to start the threat..
-The Irish re-gained the lead in the third, scoring a run on a Wolfpack error. Ali Wester led off the frame with a walk, while a groundout and wild pitch moved her to third.
-Both teams were kept at bay in the fourth, but in the fifth Notre Dame extended its lead to three. A one-out bunt single and walk put two on base for the Irish, and an RBI single to center field and sacrifice fly added two more runs to the board.
-The Pack looked to rally in the seventh as Jade Caraway hit a two-out single up the middle, but was unable to as a groundout to second base ended the game.

Inside The Box Score
-Brittany Nimmo threw all seven innings of the contest, marking her fifth complete game of the season.
-Ross led the team at the plate with a 2-for-4 performance along with her two runs batted in.
-The Wolfpack fielded a double play in the fourth inning when Alyssa Compton picked up a ground ball, tagged second base and threw to Cheyenne Balzer at first. The team now holds 17 on the year.

NC State will return to action Wednesday when it hosts UNCW at Dail Stadium. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.
