Bettel paces pack with two-under 142
BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - The No. 23 NC State women's golf team sits in sixth place of 18 teams after two rounds at the Bryan National Collegiate with a 36-hole total of 586 (+10).
The Wolfpack posted a combined score of 297 at Bryan Park Golf Course in the first round to sit in eighth, and shaved eight strokes off its total in the second with a 289 to move up two spots on the leaderboard.
Alabama sits atop of the team standings with a 573 (-3), while Georgia and Baylor round out the top three with scores of 578 (+2) and 579, in respective order.
Leonie Bettel paced the Pack with a two-under par 142 (72-70) to sit in a tie for seventh. India Clyburn (73-74) and Naomi Ko (75-72) are among the top 25 of the individual standings, sharing a tie for 23rd with a three-over par 147.
Laura Kowohl turned in scores of 77 and 73 to sit in T38th with a 150, and Sarah Bae rounded out the top five for the Pack with a 10-over par 152, carding a 78 in round one and 74 in round two. Cecily Overbey, who is competing as an individual in the tournament, shares a tie for 45th with Bae. She shot 80 (+8) in round one and 72 in the second.
NC State will wrap up play at the Bryan National Collegiate Sunday, as the final 18 holes will be contested in an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Bryan Park Golf Course in Browns Summit, N.C. The Pack will be paired with competitors from UNC-Chapel Hill and South Carolina on holes five through nine.
