
No. 35 Women’s Tennis Travels to No. 26 Notre Dame, No. 31 Wake Forest

RALEIGH—The No. 35 NC State women's tennis team is set for two matches this weekend as it travels to No. 26 Notre Dame on Friday and No. 31 Wake Forest on Sunday. Heading into the match, the Wolfpack holds a 12-7 (1-5 ACC) record.
The Wolfpack's match versus the Fighting Irish will be held at the Courtney Tennis Center at 4 p.m., and the team will play the Deacs at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex with first serve scheduled for noon.
Last Time Out
The Wolfpack swept its doubleheader last Sunday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, defeating both Boston College and Winthrop by a final score of 6-1.
Wolfpack in the Polls
NC State was ranked 35th in the latest Oracle/ITA team poll. Senior Martina Frantova represents the team in the singles poll, landing at No. 55. She holds a dual record of 9-8 (2-4 ACC) at the top singles position. In doubles, the tandem of Frantova and Anna Rogers jumped nearly 10 places from the last ranking to settle at No. 21. The duo is on a seven-match winning streak and holds a 13-1 (5-1 ACC) ledger.
Scouting Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish enter Friday's match with a 14-2 (5-1 ACC) record and were ranked 26th in the latest poll. The team won ten-straight matches before falling to Virginia in its most recent dual by a final score 4-3. Senior Monica Robinson leads the team at the top singles position with a record of 11-3. In doubles play, Brooke Broda and Robinson hold a 4-6 record at the No. 1 position. In the overall series, Notre Dame leads 3-1.
Scouting Wake Forest
The No. 31 Demon Deacons own a 12-4 (3-2 ACC) record and are coming off a conference win over Virginia Tech. The team defeated the Hokies by a close 4-3 decision. In No. 1 singles, No. 62 Kimmy Guerin owns an 8-2 record and has won six-straight matches. Emma Davis is also ranked in singles play, taking the 110th spot with a 7-2 record at the No. 2 position. At the top doubles position, the tandem of Guerin and Anna Ulyashchenko hold a 6-4 record. In the overall series, Wake Forest leads 42-7.
