
No. 31 NC State to Face Virginia

RALEIGH—The No. 31 NC State women's tennis team will travel to Charlottesville, Va., to take on the University of Virginia Friday afternoon. The match will be held at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center with first serve scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Entering its fifth ACC match of the year, the team owns a current season record of 10-6 (0-4 ACC).
Last Time Out
NC State took down Utah on Monday by a final score of 6-1. Doubles tandem of Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers earned its 10th win of the season, defeating the Utes' Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley, 7-5. Rogers earned her 10th singles win of the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Utah's Alexia Petrovic.
Wolfpack in the Rankings
In the latest Oracle/ITA poll, the Wolfpack improved four spots from the March 7 poll to take the No. 31 team rank. Senior Frantova remains No. 34 on the singles poll and holds a 8-6 (0-4 ACC) record. In doubles play, Frantova and Rogers earned the No. 30 rank with a 10-1 (3-1 ACC).
Scouting the Cavaliers
The Cavaliers hold a 5-5 (3-0 ACC) season record. The team lost their two most recent matches, falling to Ohio State and Michigan by final scores of 5-2 and 4-3, respectively. Cassie Mercer leads the team in singles play with a 5-5 (2-1 ACC) season record at the top position. In doubles, Mercer and her partner Chloe Gullickson earned the No. 43 rank and have a 4-2 (1-0 ACC) season record in No. 1 doubles. In the overall series, Virginia leads, 32-9.
