
Swimming and Diving Earns Six First Team All-America Honors At NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS—The NC State women's swimming and diving team had an impressive night at the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship Thursday as Hannah Moore, Alexia Zevnik and the 200 freestyle relay each earned top-eight finishes.
In total, the Wolfpack collected six first team All-America honors and four honorable mention All-America honors while breaking two school records and one ACC record.
Through seven events, the Wolfpack sits in eighth place with 71 points. Stanford leads with 213 points, California sits in second with 136 points and Texas rounds out the top-three with 119 points.

Wolfpack Relays
The 200 freestyle relay team of Ky-Lee Perry, Courtney Caldwell, Natalie Labonge and Krista Duffield swam a time of 1:27.25 to earn a fourth-place finish, breaking the ACC and school records. The performance earned the squad first team All-America honors and marked the program's highest finish in a relay event.
In the final event of the night, the 400 medley relay, the Wolfpack finished 10th to earn honorable mention All-America honors. The team of Elise Haan, Kayla Brumbaum, Duffield and Alexia Zevnik finished in 3:29.32, marking the second-fastest time in program history.
Freestyle
In the 500 free, Hannah Moore posted a lifetime best of 4:36.85 to take fifth overall, tabbing first team All-America honors. Her swim also lowered her previous school record time. In the prelim session, Rachel Muller posted a time of 4:44.09 to take 42nd place.
The team had four entries in the 50 free as Perry, Caldwell, Labonge and Lotta Nevalainen represented the Wolfpack. Perry took 18th in 22.07 while Caldwell finished just behind in 22.16 to tie for 20th. Labonge and Nevalainen both touched in 22.38 to tie for 31st place.
Individual Medley
Zevnik continued NC State's top-eight streak by taking sixth place in the 200 individual medley, touching the wall in 1:54.74. Her performance earned her first team All-America honors, marking her ninth mention overall and third individually.

The Pack will return to action Friday morning for the third day of the NCAA Championships. Prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m. while finals will commence at 6 p.m. Competition will kick off with the 400 IM, followed by the 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 200 medley relay.
