COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The NC State track and field program wrapped up the NCAA Indoor Championships Saturday evening, as two more athletes earned All-America honors.
Â
Joshua Davis threw a lifetime best of 72'2.75" in the weight throw to finish fifth and score four points for the men's team, clinching a T-42nd-place team finish.
Â
Davis improved 11 spots from his 2016 finish and improved his school record by 7". The All-America honor is the second in his career, but the accomplishment marks the first time Davis has scored points for the team at nationals. The Pelham, N.C., native is the sixth men's thrower in school history to win multiple All-America honors and is the only thrower to accomplish the feat in the weight throw.
Â
Rachel Koon wrapped up the meet for the Pack with a 15th-place finish in the 3,000m to clinch her first career All-America honor on the track and the second between cross country and track and field. Koon's finish marked the second consecutive year NC State has earned All-America honors from the event.
