No. 38 NC State Falls to No. 22 Tulane

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The No. 38 NC State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 22 Tulane in a neutral site match at Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon. The Wolfpack falls to 7-5 with the loss, while Tulane moves to 8-2.
Tulane claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. Nick Horton and Alexis Galarneau fell 6-1 from the top spot and Ivan Saveljic and Michael Ogden dropped their match 6-3.
In singles play, Tulane claimed victories at the first, second, fourth and sixth singles positions to clinch the win. Igor Saveljic fell to No. 37 Constantin Schmitz 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Nick Horton dropped a 7-6(7-4), 6-2 match to Ewan Moore at No. 2 singles, Ogden fell 6-2, 6-1 to Tyler Schick at No. 4 singles and Ivan fell to Chin-San Jao 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
In the Pack's victories, No. 72 Galarneau claimed a victory at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over No. 110 Sebastian Rey. The win is his 14th of the year and marks the third win over a ranked opponent this season.
Georgiy Malyshev earned a team-leading 15th win of the season with a 3-6, 6-0, 1-0(10-4) victory at No. 5 singles with a win over Tim Ruetzel.
