
No. 16 NC State to Play No. 17 Duke in ACC Home Opener Wednesday

RALEIGH -Â The No. 16 NC State women's tennis team will continue its home stand Wednesday as it opens ACC play versus No. 17 Duke. The match will be held at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center and is set to begin at 5 p.m.
This will mark the 53rd time the teams have faced-off and the first time NC State will host Duke since 2013. Historically, Duke leads the series, 51-1, with NC State's single win coming from 2007. The Wolfpack will enter the match coming off five-straight wins while the Blue Devils have lost their last three consecutive matches.Â

Wolfpack in the Rankings
In the latest Oracle/ITA Division I poll, NC State earned its highest-ever ranking, coming in at No. 16. In singles, senior Martina Frantova moved up No. 30 after previously sitting at No. 31. Doubles tandem Frantova and Anna Rogers entered the poll for the first time this season at No. 22. The duo is undefeated this season, 5-0, and has played at the top doubles position at each match.Â

Last Time Out
The Wolfpack added four wins to its record book after hosting two doubleheaders in three days. The team defeated James Madison, Furman, William & Mary and East Tennessee State to move its season record to 8-2.

Freshman Forces
In her collegiate debut, freshman Anna Rogers boasts a 7-2 season record. The Connecticut native is playing hot, and is currently on a five-match winning streak. Fellow freshman Adriana Reami has won her last two-straight matches and has earned an overall 6-4 season record.

Scouting Duke
The Blue Devils hold an 4-3 season record and will enter the ACC dual coming off three loses. In singles play, three are ranked on the Oracle/ITA poll, including freshman No. 21 Meible Chi and sophomores No. 37 Chalen Scholl and No. 125 Kaityln McCarthy. Also appearing on the poll are doubles tandems No. 25 Meible Chi and Kaitlyn McCarthy and No. 60 Ellyse Hamlin and Samantha Harris.Â
