Wolfpack Continues Play At Wake Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team concluded its second day of action at the Wake Forest Tennis Invitational Saturday at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The squad will finish up at the tournament Sunday to close out the fall tennis season.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic continued to impress with solid doubles play, beating Mercer's Sam Philp and Oliver Stuart 6-2 to advance to the final. The Wolfpack juniors improved to 7-1 on the season with the win and are set to match up against James Madison's Theophile Lanthiez and Paul Mendoza in their second doubles final of the fall season.
Junior Georgiy Malyshev and freshman Collin Shick paired up to continue play in the doubles back draw. They faced off against Robin Calais and Michiel Meekers and took down the Radford duo by a 6-2 score.
In singles, Tristan Smith battled from behind to earn his second comeback win of the weekend. After dropping the first set 6-1, the freshman rallied to take the second and third sets 6-4 and 6-3, respectively.
