Women’s Soccer To Meet Tar Heels In ACC Championship Semifinal

RALEIGH – Currently on a six-match win streak, the No. 24 NC State women's soccer team (14-4-1) is set to face in-state rival No. 4 UNC-Chapel Hill (13-2-2) Friday evening in the ACC Championship semifinal at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston, S.C. Kickoff is approximately 8 p.m., and will be broadcast on Regional Sports Networks and the ACC Network Extra.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack defeated No. 24 Notre Dame 4-1 on Sunday in the ACC Championship quarterfinal at home, advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 1995. It marked the first time NC State has ever hosted an ACC Championship match at Dail Soccer Stadium. After a scoreless first half with just one shot on goal, sophomore Tziarra King recorded her first career hat trick while senior Rachel Cox scored the game-winner.
KING NAMED ACC/USC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After scoring five of her team's six goals last week King was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week and the Divison I Women's Player of the Week by United Soccer Coaches.
She continues to ink her name in NC State's all-time record book, as she currently ranks ninth in most goals (14) and points (34) in a single season. She also has moved into the top 10 of the NCAA rankings, ranking sixth in points and seventh in goals.
Among the conference she ranks first in points and second in goals, goals per game (.74) and points per game (1.79).
POSTSEASON HONORS
Three from the Pack have collected postseason honors from the ACC this week. King was named to the All-ACC First Team, Ricci Walkling was named to the All-ACC Third Team and Lulu Guttenberger garnered ACC All-Freshman Team honors.

The Tar Heels hosted Florida State in the ACC Championship quarterfinal on Sunday and won 2-1. In its final two matches of the regular season UNC-CH drew 0-0 with Louisville and 1-1 with Notre Dame at home to finish second in the conference standings with an 8-0-2 record.
UNC-CH is ranked fourth and third, respectively, in this week's United Soccer Coaches and Soccer America Polls.
The Heels have seven multi-goal scorers on its roster, led by Alessia Russo's eight this season. Samantha Leshnak has played all 17 matches in goal for her team, owning a .57 goals against average and .800 save percentage.
