Men's Tennis To Close Fall Action At Wake Forest Invitational

Six from the NC State men's tennis team are set to compete in the tournament in Winston-Salem

RALEIGH – The NC State men's tennis team will conclude its fall season this weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Wolfpack will be represented by three juniors – Georgiy Malyshev, Igor Saveljic, and Ivan Saveljic – and three freshmen – Morgan Lohan, Collin Shick, and Tristan Smith.
The juniors enter their third tournament of the season after solid singles runs at both the ITA Carolina Regional and the Duke James Bonk Invite. Malyshev boasts a 5-2 record on the season, including an appearance in the final at the Duke Invite. Ivan impressed at the Regional, where he took down three opponents in straight sets on his way to the Round of 16. Igor is 2-0 against opponents ranked in the top 100 and most recently earned a team-best singles quarterfinals berth at the Regional.
Lohan, Shick, and Smith made their NC State debuts at the ITA Carolina Regional and will take the court again this weekend for a second outing with the Wolfpack.
FORMAT:
The tournament is broken up into seven 16-player singles draws and six doubles flights with eight teams in each flight. Players who do not advance past the first round will move to the back draw to continue competition.
FRIDAY'S SCHEDULE AND MATCHUPS:
Each member of the Wolfpack will play two singles matches and one doubles match Friday. Here are the scheduled times for the first round of play:
