
NC State Volleyball Breaks Record in Hard-Fought Battle at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The NC State volleyball team broke the rally-scoring era program record with 106 digs and forced five sets in the contest, but it was not enough as the Wolfpack dropped a hard-fought battle at Notre Dame, 3-2 (25-27, 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 9-15), Sunday afternoon inside Purcell Pavilion.

The contest featured 51 ties and 23 lead changes, but the Fighting Irish were able to take the fifth set and the match. NC State won the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season, 3-2, and was looking to complete the season sweep but was unable.

NC State moves to 19-10 on the year and 14-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, while Notre Dame improves to 21-8 and 11-7 in conference action.
