Wolfpack duo’s ranking is also second-highest in program history
TEMPE, Ariz. – In the latest Oracle/ITA poll, NC State's doubles team of Claudia Wiktorin & Anna Rogers earned the second-highest ranking in program history, moving up to No. 9. Wiktorin was featured in the singles poll as she was ranked No. 61.
Only Sanna Bhambri & Sandya Nagharaj have earned a higher doubles ranking; they were ranked No. 7 in 2011.
Wiktorin & Rogers were rewarded for their impressive fall play as they moved up from their ranking of No. 26 in the in the preseason poll.
"Always good to get recognition in the early rankings each year and to see different players receive the credit," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "Claudia really showed a maturity in her matches this fall that we haven't seen thus far, I think the only frustration has been that she played just the two events in singles as her's and Anna doubles runs kind of took over. Ideally we would like to see more of our girls earning this recognition and we'll certainly use that over the holiday break as motivation to be ready ahead of the spring season."
Fall Highlights
Wiktorin & Rogers accumulated many impressive results throughout fall tournament play:
The next ITA rankings will be released on Jan. 3, 2018.
