Wolfpack set to meet Bulldogs inside Inuoye Marksmanship Center
RALEIGH, N.C. – After nearly a three-week break in competition to focus on training, the 11th-ranked NC State rifle team returns to action this weekend when the squad travels to The Citadel.
Competition is slated to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday morning inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel's campus in Charleston, S.C.
The Wolfpack enters the match with a 5-4 overall record, while the Bulldogs are 4-11 on the year.
Last Time Out
In NC State's most recent outing, the squad fired a season-high score of 4656 to earn the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) victory against No. 10 Akron in the Wolfpack's first home match of the year inside Reynolds Coliseum.
Season High in Smallbore
Wolfpack shooters compiled the team's best score in the smallbore competition in the most recent match against Akron at home with a score of 2313 to top its previous season high of 2296.
Personal Best for Jacobs
Sophomore Kendra Jacobs had a lot to do with NC State earning its best smallbore score of the season, as she fired a personal-best score of 585 to lead all shooters in the event.
The Trent, S.D., native earned a 99 on both series in prone and her second series in kneeling, just one point shy of a perfect series.
Familiar Trip
This weekend's trip will be the Wolfpack's second trip to The Citadel this season. NC State opened the year in Charleston but that match was held in the field house as an NCAA Test Match.
It will be NC State's first time firing inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center this year.
