No. 11 Wolfpack Rifle Fires Season High in Win at The Citadel

Graduate student Lauren Phillips recorded the match’s top score in each discipline

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Headlined by a season-high score of 2314 in the smallbore competition, the 11^th-ranked NC State rifle team earned a 4654-4574 victory against The Citadel this weekend inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center.

The Wolfpack's team score of 2314 in the smallbore competition eclipses the squad's previous high fired at home against Akron by one (2313). In the air rifle event, NC State recorded a team total of 2340 to compile its aggregate score of 4654.

The Citadel charted a 2314 in air rifle and a 2260 in smallbore to register an aggregate total of 4574.

NC State moves to 6-4 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-12.

Smallbore Notes
- Lauren Phillips highlighted NC State's performance in the smallbore event with a score of 587 thanks to a perfect series in the prone position.
- Will Marciniak claimed second in smallbore by firing a 580, which included 99s on both series in prone.
- Zach Eisenberg charted NCSU's next-best score with a 574 and Claire Zanti finished right behind him with a 573, highlighted by a perfect series in prone.
- Derya Pekari and Kendra Jacobs rounded out the Wolfpack's competitors with scores of 567 and 566, respectively.
- NC State recorded a team score of 2314 in the event, while the Bulldogs fired a 2260.

Air Rifle Notes
- The Pack's counting shooters recorded a team score of 2340 in the air rifle, headlined by Phillips who led all student-athletes in the event with a score of 589.
- Zanti earned a score of 584 with a perfect 100 on her fourth series and Eisenberg equaled her score of 584.
- Jacobs turned in a score of 583, while Marciniak opened the event strong with perfect first series to tally a 579.
- Pekari logged a mark of 569 thanks to a high score of 96 on her second series.

Aggregate Notes
- Phillips earned the top spot in the aggregate with a score of 1176 and Marciniak claimed second with an 1159.

NC State returns to action at home Sunday, Nov. 19, when the Wolfpack takes on North Georgia. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. inside Reynolds Coliseum.
