RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second consecutive season, the 12^th-ranked NC State rifle team will host a home match inside Reynolds Coliseum, as No. 10 Akron visits Raleigh Saturday. Competition is slated to begin at 1 p.m. inside the main arena.

NC State will also host a Reynolds Open House in conjunction with the match, as fans that have not had the opportunity to visit since the renovation are encouraged to attend.

The contest will be NC State's 2017-18 home opener and a Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) matchup between the teams.

The match will begin at 1 p.m. with smallbore action, followed by air rifle at 3:45 and the air rifle finals session is slated to start at 6 p.m.

Admission is FREE!

NC State owns a 4-4 overall record and a 1-2 mark in GARC action heading into the matchup, while Akron is 2-1 on the year and 1-1 in conference.

Match Promotions

Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State earned a 4629-4606 victory at No. 11 Memphis to record its first GARC win of the year on Oct. 7. Graduate student Lauren Phillips fired a season-high score of 594 in the air rifle competition to lead the Wolfpack in the match.

Akron suffered a 4645-4622 loss at No. 12 Ole Miss in its most recent match last Sunday.

Last Time in Reynolds
The Wolfpack last competed inside Reynolds coliseum on Jan. 29, 2017, when NC State picked up a 4657-4547 victory against the North Georgia Nighthawks.

Phillips Among NCAA's Top 25 for Air Rifle Average
NC State's Phillips ranks among the top 25 of the NCAA in air rifle average with a 591.25 clip through the first eight matches. The Wolfpack All-American notched her best score of the year at Memphis with a mark of 594, highlighted by a perfect series.
