NC State to host Campbell Saturday, UNCW Sunday

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team is set for its final weekend of non-conference play, as the Campbell Camels head to Raleigh Saturday and UNCW visits Sunday. Saturday's tilt is slated for 6 p.m., while first serve of Sunday's contest is 2 p.m.

Both matches will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra, a digital channel accessible through Watch ESPN or the Watch ESPN App. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth (17 and younger). Admission is free for children age two or younger.

Weekend Promotions
Saturday's match against Campbell is 2016 Camper Reunion Night. All campers wearing their camp t-shirt from this summer will receive $3 admission to the match.

Against UNCW, fans can get a Sunday FunDay punch card and fans with their ODU football ticket can receive $3 admission.Â

Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State defeated the SMU Mustangs, a 2015 NCAA Tournament team, 3-2 to conclude play in the Wolfpack Invitational. The Pack went 2-1 in the event, also collecting a win against Delaware.

Outstanding Offense
NC State has been extremely productive this season offensively and leads the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 13.70 kills per set. In the Wolfpack's win against SMU, NC State tallied a season-high 71 kills, an average of 14.20 kills per set.

For the season, NC State has 507 kills in 37 sets played to equal 13.70 kills per set.

That SPEAKS Volumes
NC State senior setter Maggie Speaks currently leads the ACC with 11.14 assists per set, which ranks 19th in the NCAA. She handed out a career best and rally-scoring era program record 64 assists in the Wolfpack's five-set victory against SMU to close out the home-opening weekend in newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum.

She owns 412 assists on the season, which also leads the conference and is ranked 24th in the NCAA.

Receiving Recognition
The Wolfpack has had at least one player named to the all-tournament team in each of its three tournaments this season. Junior Perry Ramsey was named to the TCU Invitational All-Tournament Team following the opening weekend of play.

At the Ole Miss Invitational, senior Maggie Speaks and junior Julia Brown garnered a spot on the all-tournament team.

Last weekend, Brown was named to the all-tournament team for the second consecutive weekend, while sophomore Teni Sopitan collected her first career mention when she was tabbed to the Wolfpack Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Scouting Campbell
The Campbell Camels own a 4-7 record on the season and will take on the Duke Blue Devils prior to their matchup with NC State Saturday. Campbell was swept by UNCW in its most recent action on Tuesday.

NC State and Campbell have met 15 times in the history of the programs with the Wolfpack owning an 11-4 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, the Pack swept the Camels, 3-0, highlighted by a record-breaking performance from Kaitlyn Kearney, who finished the match with an .889 attacking percentage with 16 kills on 18 attempts.

Senior outside hitter Loni Kreun leads the Camels offensively with 2.51 kills per set, while sophomore Jessica Stocking has contributed 2.05 kps. At the setter position, Summer Schuitema and Rebecca Ramirez have split time with the former handing out 5.58 assists per set and the latter 3.23 aps. Kayla Stanback in the Camels' libero and she averages 4.00 digs per set.

As a team, Campbell averages 11.66 kills per set and has a team attacking percentage of .166.

UNCW owns a 9-1 overall record in 2016 and will head to Duke Saturday evening for a matchup with the Blue Devils before heading to Raleigh Sunday. The Seahawks swept Campbell in their most recent action on Tuesday at home, 3-0.

The Wolfpack and Seahawks have met seven times in volleyball with NCSU owning a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The last meeting between the teams was in 2014, when NC State defeated UNCW in a five-set match in Wilmington.

Nicole Lott leads the team on offense with 3.34 kills per set and has started all 10 matches. At the setter position, Alyssa Desjardins paces the squad with 6.69 assists per set. Defensively, Anna Moss is averaging 1.18 blocks per set and Sydney Alvis has collected 4.00 digs per set.
