RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State Wolfpack volleyball team raced past the Campbell Camels, 3-1 (18-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21), Saturday night inside Reynolds Coliseum. After dropping the opening set, the Wolfpack offense was dominant the remainder of the match.
NC State moves to 7-4 on the year, while Campbell falls to 4-9. The Wolfpack was stellar defensively in the contest with a season-high 13.5 blocks.
Quoting Hampton-Keith
Opening statement…
"We had some expected and unexpected changes in the match tonight," said head coach Linda Hampton-Keith. "We switched our setter and that was unexpected, and we switched outside hitters, which we knew we would do with Perry Ramsey returning to the lineup.
"I thought the team responded really well to those changes and that was really important to respond productively to the changes, so I'm really proud of them for that."
On the team's season-high 13.5 blocks…
"Blocking was one of the things that we focused on heading into the match. We wanted to make sure we were getting over on our blocks and doing what needed to do to be successful. We knew they would try to hit the ball off our block, so we really stressed blocking and it's nice to see 13.5."
