NC State’s Brett Kinneman earned a spot on Louisville Slugger’s Freshman All-America team
NC State baseball's Brett Kinneman captured a place on Louisville Slugger's Freshman All-America team, announced Wednesday by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
The left fielder hit .296 in 34 starts with six homers, 13 doubles, and 32 RBIs. Kinneman played sparingly before an ankle injury to Garrett Suggs during the Virginia series opened up a spot in the order. The freshman produced immediately, contributing at least one hit in 17 of his first 19 starts.
Kinneman becomes the 11th Wolfpacker to make Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-America list, the first since Andrew Knizner in 2014. Carlos Rodon and Trea Turner both made it in 2012. Kinneman represents the third Wolfpack outfielder to achieve the honor, joining Jake Weber (1995) and Brian Wright (1999).
