TORONTO – NC State women's basketball incoming freshman Aislinn "Ace" Konig has been invited to the U18 women's national team tryouts and training camp, Canada Basketball announced Wednesday.

Konig is one of 17 athletes invited to the camp and will participate with the group at York University in Toronto from June 27 – July 8. The group will eventually be narrowed down to a roster of 12 women before competition begins at the 2016 U18 FIBA Americas tournament in Valdivia, Chile, from July 13-17.

Aislinn "Ace" Konig | 5-9 Guard | Surrey, British Columbia
Prior to NC State: Five-star rated and given a scouts grade of 97, Aislinn "Ace" Konig was the No. 38 overall prospect and No. 9 guard in the class of 2016 … Named the British Columbia Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016  … Led the Brookswood Bobcats to three straight Provincial AAA titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016 ... Earned league MVP honors during all three seasons … Recorded 35 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists during the 2016 championship game … Scored a game-high 26 points in the 2015 championship game … Once scored 56 points in a single game (14 3FGs made and 32 points scored in the first quarter) … Invited to the adidas 3stripe All-American Camp in the summer of 2015 … Invited to train with the Canadian National Team in December 2015.
