University Nationals on Tap for @PackWrestle this Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. - Nineteen members of the 2016-17 NC State wrestling team, along with four athletes training at the Wolfpack Olympic Regional Training Center, will head to Akron, Ohio, this weekend to compete at the University Nationals. Up for grabs this weekend is a spot on the U.S. team that will compete at the University World Championships in Corum, Turkey October 25-30. Each campion this weekend earns a bid.
Here is a list of returning NC State wrestlers in action this weekend:
Sean Fausz - 61 kg
Jamal Morris - 61 kg
Jamel Morris - 61 kg
Kevin Jack - 65 kg
Beau Donahue - 70 kg
Cohl Fulk - 70 kg
Sam Melikian - 70 kg
Sam Speno - 70 kg
Brian Hamann - 74 kg
Chad Pyke - 74 kg
Rodney Shepard - 74 kg
Lee Davis - 80 kg
Nicky Hall - 80 kg
Roderick Davis - 86 kg
Michael Macchiavello - 86 kg
Pete Renda - 86 kg
Malik McDonald - 97 kg
Michael Boykin - 125 kg
Mike Kosoy - 125 kg
All 19 of the Pack will be competing in Freestyle, while Lee Davis and Roderick Davis will be competing in both Greco and Freestyle thie weekend.
Among all D1 schools sending wrestlers, @PackWrestle has the most competing this weekend.
In addition to the 19 members of the 2016-17 Wolfpack, four that are currently training at the Wolfpack Olympic Regional Training Center will also be in action. 2016 NC State All-Americans Tommy Gantt (74 kg) and Nick Gwiazdowski (125 kg), current assistant coach Adam Hall (70 kg), and Timmy McCall (97 kg) will all be in action also looking to capture a spot at the University World Championships.
Only the following individuals may participate as competitors in the 2016 University Nationals:
• Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country.
• Former students of the institutions mentioned above who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event.
All competitors must be U.S. citizens. They must be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1, 2016. Athletes must have graduated from high school in 2015 or before. 2016 graduates are not eligible.
Greco action starts on Friday, and Freestyle action is Saturday and Sunday.
