Taylor Claims Medalist Honor At Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After tying a school record in Saturday's first round, Rachael Taylor finished the job on Sunday and claimed first place at the Gator Invitational in Florida. Taylor, who fired a 66 on Saturday and entered the final day 4-under par, finished the tournament at even par and won by three shots.
FINAL RESULTS - GATOR INVITATIONAL
It was the first career collegiate win for the senior and NC State's first outright medalist since Lindsay McGetrick won the Sir Pizza Classic in February 2013.
Her 54-hole score of 210 tied for third in school history, two shots behind the school-record 208 shot by Augusta James in 2011.
In addition to Taylor's win, NC State saw Cecily Overbey tie for 21st and Naomi Ko tie for 28th. As a team, the Wolfpack placed fifth in the 13-team field. Host school Florida won the tournament by 11 shots over Florida State.
NC State's next event is the LSU Golf Classic in Baton Rouge March 20-22.
