BATON ROUGE, La. - Sarah Bae tied for ninth overall, her best finish this season, and the No. 32 NC State women's golf tied for fifth at the LSU Golf Classic.
FINAL RESULTS
Bae (+11) recorded her first top-10 finish as an NC State player. She won three tournaments during her two years at High Point, her previous school.
"I thought it was a great tournament. Conditions were tough but I think because we practice hard on our swing and mental game, we were able to finish in the top five," Bae said. "I think it will be great if we can come back here for the regional and we will be even more ready by then."
Tuesday's best round belonged to Rachael Taylor, who shot an even-par 72. Laura Kowohl was one shot ahead of Taylor had 16-over and tied for 31st overall.
"Our goal was to finish in the top five and we did that," Taylor said. "All in all, it was a great tournament for the Pack!"
Competing as an individual, Naomi Ko has a solid tournament and tied for 25th in the 96-player field.
NC State tied with host school LSU for fifth in the 17-team event, which featured nine of the nation's top 50 teams. Duke won the event by 16 shots over runner-up Arkansas. Tulane placed third and Wake Forest was fourth.
