
Kowohl's 70 Leads Wolfpack At LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. - Laura Kowohl carded a 2-under par 70 and the NC State women's golf team climbed six spots in the team standings at the LSU Golf Classic on Monday.

After two rounds, Sarah Bae (+4) is the Wolfpack's top scorer. Bae carded a 1-over 73 and followed that with a 75 on Monday. She's tied for third place in the 96-player field. Bae is one of three Wolfpack players in the top 20: Kowohl (+6) is tied for sixth and India Clyburn (+9) is tied for 20th.
The Pack improved its team score by 14 shots from Sunday's round. NC State is tied with Houston for fourth, five shots out of third place. Duke leads the tournament by 12 shots over runner-up Arkansas.
"Today was a strong improvement," head coach Page Marsh said. "Tomorrow we are looking forward to playing and seeing how the wind and course challenge us. It's a demanding track and the wind has been brutal. I'm proud of their fight and how hard the have worked on the short games each day to score."
The third and final round of the LSU Golf Classic will begin with a shotgun start Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
