OFF TO A HOT START:
The Wolfpack enters the weekend with only one loss on its resume. The Pack narrowly fell 5-2 to No. 13 LSU last weekend, an improvement from the 7-0 loss in the 2015 season. The Red and White took doubles play as Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta succeeded in a close 7-6 (7-2) match while Amanda Rebol and Claudia Wiktorin defeated the No. 60 ranked duo of Ella Taylor and Skylar Holloway 6-4. The team split sets in three of its six singles matchups but was unable to close the deal falling 5-2 to the No. 13 Tigers.
Prior to facing No. 13 LSU, the team's highest ranked opponent to date, it met then No. 42, current No. 39 William & Mary in the first leg of the Wolfpack's first doubleheader. Rebol played a heavy hand in earning the Pack a 4-3 win over the Tribe, later exceeding that contribution by single-handedly capturing a dramatic deciding point for another 4-3 dual win over VCU to sweep the doubleheader.
With a 4-1 overall record NC State lists No. 65 in the most recent Oracle ITA national poll, its highest rank in two years.

SCOUT REPORT:
Florida Gulf Coast and Elon are scheduled to meet the day prior to their Wolfpack matchups. FGCU currently sits 2-2 earning its wins in its two most recent duals, 5-2 over Bethune-Cookman and 4-3 over UCF. Players from the Pack and Eagles met on three occasions during the 2015 fall season at the USTA Clay Court Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Frantova and Stenta were crowned tournament champions in the team's final fall tournament, but prior to their final victories teammates Joanna Nalborska, Taylor Zaytoun, Barbara Mancera and Rebol competed against FGCU opponents. On the first day of the tournament Nalborska defeated Breana Stampfil 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 while Zaytoun fell 6-2, 6-4 to Elizabeth Means in the round of 64. The following day Mancera and Rebol competed against Means and Julia Ascua, narrowly falling in the round of 16 doubles play.
NC State will be FGCU's first ranked opponent of the 2016 season as well as the Eagles' first Power 5 conference matchup.
Elon will travel to Raleigh Saturday having added one result to its current 1-5 record. During the fall season Tayla Stenta faced Elon opponent Natalia Janowicz at the ITA Carolina's Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. Stenta earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Janowicz in the round of 16 qualifier.
NC State is the fourth ACC team Elon has played as well as its fifth ranked opponent. It opened the season with a 6-1 loss to No. 4 North Carolina, followed by a 7-0 loss to No. 16 Duke and later a 7-0 loss to No. 64 Wake Forest. Elon's fourth ranked opponent was No. 42 William & Mary the day prior to the Pack-Tribe dual in Raleigh. The Phoenix fell 6-1 to the No. 42 ranked squad, a team the Wolfpack defeated 4-3 the following day.
Saturday's doubleheader will be held at the Dail Outdoor Stadium located in the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. Directions and parking information can be found here. Live stats and live video will be available and free to access during both matches.
