Quotes from the Wolfpack
Head coach Wes Moore's opening statement: "I'm really proud of the way our senior guards in particular came out today ready to play. After Thursday night's big and emotional win, it could have been easy to have a letdown, but we came out on both ends of the floor making plays on defense and scoring well. Miah (Spencer), Ashley (Williams), and Dom (Wilson) all were in double figures in scoring at halftime, which is a great sign. For the young players, it was good to get them some experience out there. I'm still excited about the young payers we have, but they have to make sure they're focused on what's going on and know their role once they get on the court and take care of the basketball. We had too many turnovers, which was probably the biggest disappointment of the game. We're heading into final exams now and they need to take care of business with the books."
Miah Spencer on sharing the scoring load: "We share the ball. Good things happen when you share the ball and not put all on just one person. When we have multiple people scoring, on defense you don't really know who to put your attention into because you have three or four people with the ability to score. That helps us."
Kaila Ealey on a career high four steals: "My performance in the last game wasn't too hot on defense, so it made me want to focus on defense this game by playing aggressive and getting into the passing lanes."
NC State is halfway through its current four-game home stand. The Wolfpack hosts UNCW on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. and closes the home stand on Wednesday, Dec. 14 against North Carolina Central. Both games will be carried live on ACC Network Extra.
