SERIES HISTORY
-Saturday's game marks the second meeting between NC State and Wofford.
-NC State earned an 85-45 win over Wofford in Raleigh on Nov. 9, 2012.
-Wolfpack head coach Wes Moore is 34-1 in his 35 meetings with Wofford (formerly head coach at UTC).
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
-Saturday's game will also serve as the season opener for Wofford.
-The Terriers return two starters from a team which posted a 9-20 record last season.
-Head coach Jimmy Garrity enters his first season with the program. He compiled a 66-26 record in three years at Anderson University before joining Wofford.
LAST GAME
NC State reopened Reynolds Coliseum in style on Nov. 4, earning a dominant 96-41 exhibition victory over UNC Pembroke. NC State never trailed in the contest, leading for the final 39:43 after taking a 3-0 lead 17 seconds after the opening tip. Led by double-figure scoring from senior Jennifer Mathurin (16 points), freshman Lucky Rudd (12), and junior Chelsea Nelson (10), the Wolfpack shot .429 (33-77) from the field and .353 (12-34) from distance.
WOLFPACK QUICK FACTS
-Immediately following a senior day game against Notre Dame on March 1, 2015, Reynolds Coliseum was shut down for a $35 million renovation project which was completed in August 2016. Seats with poor vantage points were removed, the court was shifted to the south endzone, and the marvelous NC State Walk of Fame & History was constructed in the north end of the building. The Wolfpack played the entire 2015-16 season split between PNC Arena and local Broughton High School, and will return to its incredible "new" facility for the 2016-17 season and beyond.
-Viewed by many as arguably the first team left out of the 2016 NCAA Tournament, the Wolfpack will play with a chip on its collective shoulder for the 2016-17 season. Last season's Wolfpack posted a 20-11 overall record, went 10-6 in the ACC, and swept local rivals Duke and North Carolina for the first time since the 1990-91 season.
-NC State returns its top five scorers from the 2015-16 season: Dominique Wilson (Senior): 15.3 ppg, Miah Spencer (Senior): 14.1 ppg, Jennifer Mathurin (Senior): 11.4 ppg, Chelsea Nelson (Junior): 7.2 ppg, and Ashley Williams (Senior): 6.1 ppg.
-Complementing the returning scorers nicely will be NC State's 2016-17 freshman class. Ranked 20th nationally by ESPNW, the class features the following players: Aislinn Konig (ranked No. 38 by ESPNW), Lucky Rudd (No. 94), and Erika Cassell (No. 99).
-The 2016-17 season will be Wes Moore's 28th as a head coach and his fourth in charge of the Wolfpack women's basketball program. Throughout his career, Moore (621-203) has led teams to 20+ win seasons on 22 different occasions and has won 25+ games 10 times. Moore is an impressive 63-34 (.649) during his time with the Wolfpack.
