Turner Repeats as NL Rookie of the Month

NC State's Trea Turner collected his second National League Rookie of the Month award in as many chances, following up a win in August according to an announcement by Major League Baseball on Monday.

Turner hit .339 in September with five doubles, two triples, eight homers, eight walks, 18 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases. For his rookie season, Turner stole 33 bases in 73 games to go along with his .342 average, 14 doubles, eight triples, and 13 home runs.

No rookie in major league history has ever recorded at least 13 home runs, 33 stolen bases, and hit .340 or better in 73 games or less. Turner, Bryce Harper, and Ryan Church are the only Nationals rookies to take home the award.
