RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team will make its first-ever trip to Louisville to face the host Cardinals Thursday night. First serve is slated for 7p.m. inside the KFC Yum! Center.

The match will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra, accessible through accessible through Watch ESPN and the Watch ESPN App.

NC State enters the matchup with a 10-8 overall record and a 3-3 clip in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, while Louisville is 6-10 and 1-5 in conference action.

Last Time Out
In its last outing, the Wolfpack dropped a hard-fought battle against the 16^th-ranked Florida State Seminoles, 3-1. NC State rallied late in the contest, but was edged by the Seminoles.

Series History
NC State and Louisville have met three times in the history of the programs with each contest held in Raleigh. The Cardinals have emerged victorious in all three meetings, with a pair of five-set wins and a 3-0 sweep last year against the Wolfpack.

The teams have met twice as conference opponents.

Scouting Louisville
Louisville has had a tough start to the year with a 6-10 record and a 1-5 mark in ACC play. In their last outing, the Cardinals dropped a five-set match on the road against the Syracuse Orange.

Last season, Louisville won the ACC Championship and head coach Anne Kordes was named the ACC Coach of the Year. The Cardinals lost three starters from last year's team and were picked fourth in the conference's preseason poll.

Freshman outside hitter Melanie McHenry leads the team offensively with 3.03 kills per set, while senior Janelle Jenkins is second on the squad with 2.69 kps. Setter Kali Eaken has dished out 10.22 assists per set, fifth most in the ACC. Defensively, sophomore Molly Sauer ranks among the top 10 of the conference with 4.19 digs per set.

As a team, Louisville has an attacking percentage of .173 and opponents have compiled a .232 clip.

Leading The Way
NC State leads the ACC with 12.96 assists per set, which ranks 42^nd in the NCAA among division I programs. In addition, the Wolfpack has dished out the most total assists in the league this season with 868.

Junior Julia Brown is first in the ACC with 11.71 attacks per set and tops the column in total attacks this year with 773.

Seeing Double
Brown has recorded a double-double in each of the past two matches and is tied for the ACC lead with nine on the season. She has charted 10 or more kills and double-digit digs in each of her double-double performances.

Lucky Number Two
NC State has won the second set in 12 of its 18 matches this season. The Wolfpack has scored 420 points in the frame, the most in any set in 2016, and has allowed 357 points, the largest margin in a set.

The Pack has won the second set in nine of its 10 wins in 2016.

Tale of the Tape
The Wolfpack has posted a 8-1 record this season when recording more blocks than its opponent. In contrast, NC State has lost seven of eight matches when being out-blocked and is 1-0 when blocks are equal.

The Higher, The Better
NC State has tallied more kills than its opponent in all 10 wins this season. The Pack has lost just three matches when recording more kills.

In addition, NCSU's hitting percentage has been higher than opponents in nine of its 10 victories.
