Women jump to 13th, men break in at 30th
NEW ORLEANS – For the first time this season, both the NC State men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the national USTFCCCA coaches poll. The Wolfpack women jumped up three spots to 13th, while the men enter the rankings for the first time this season at No. 30.
The teams moved up in the polls after sweeping last weekend's adidas XC Challenge in a showcase of power and depth. The men dominated the 11-team field taking first-place with 22 points. On the women's side, all five scorers finished in the top-10, while a host of Pack runners finished among the top-20. Overall, the women took the top spot with 19 points.
Both teams will be back in action at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 2nd. The race will serve as an opportunity for the Pack to test themselves against a deep field. Historically, the race has impacted at-large bids for the NCAA Championships.
