Women's Tennis Set to Compete in Duke Invitational

The women's tennis team will compete in its second tournament of the fall season at the Duke Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C., - The NC State women's tennis team will compete in its second tournament of the fall season when it travels to Cary, N.C., for the Duke Invitational on Sept. 18-20.

The Wolfpack will send four members of the squad to Cary this weekend, three of which are freshmen. Senior Joanna Nalborska will compete along with teammates Barbara Mancera, Bianca Moldovan and Amanda Rebol.

Each will compete in singles and doubles match-ups against opponents from Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Georgia Tech, TCU and Furman.

Last weekend the Pack opened the 2015 fall season at the Wolfpack Invitational. Doubles duo Nalborska and Moldovan teamed up for two matches, earning a 6-3 win against Katherine Butler and Kelly Williford from Virginia Tech, as well as a 6-4 defeat over Jasmine Lee and Madison Harrison from Mississippi State.

Mancera and Rebol competed in their first collegiate matches and earned wins in two of three doubles match-ups including a 6-4 win over Sansitha Nandakumar and Raluca Mita from Virginia Tech and a 6-2 victory over Chiara Volejnicek and Kristin Rehse of Georgia State.

Day One Schedule of Play
Tournament play will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with two rounds of doubles, followed by one round of singles play.
