RALEIGH, N.C. – Three members of the NC State women's tennis team are listed among the preseason rankings released this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Â
Senior Joanna Nalborska ranks at No. 116 on the national poll for singles play, while junior transfer Martina Frantova and freshman Claudia Wiktorin are listed at No. 53 amongst the doubles rankings.
Â
The Wolfpack completed its first tournament of the fall season on Sept. 11-13. Frantova and Wiktorin, playing together for the first time, won two of three matches including a 6-4 defeat over Georgiana Patrasc and Kristina Vozniak from tournament front-runner, Mississippi State.
Â
Nalborska is no stranger to ITA rankings having been listed nationally at No. 66 and regionally at No. 12 in the singles polls at the beginning of the 2015 spring season. Last season Nalborska earned wins in singles play over a number of ranked players, including a triumph over No. 34 Saska Gavrilovska from Texas A&M and the No. 57 ranked Paige Hourigan from Georgia Tech.
Â
The Pack will travel to Cary, N.C., to compete in the Duke Invitational on Sept. 18-20. Â Â Â
