Taylor, Rich Compete at Virginia Grand Prix

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - A pair of throwers continued their preparation for post-season competition and earned top-three finishes at the Virginia Grand Prix on Friday night.
Tremanisha Taylor kicked off the event for the Wolfpack, taking second in the shot put with a season-best throw of 50'4.00". Taylor is continuing to show progress, as her throw is almost a half of a foot improvement since her first attempt of the season. The progress has also helped her regional rankings, as she has moved from 34th to 26th in the East standings of the shot put.
On the men's side, Jule Rich earned third in the hammer throw with a mark of 164'3.00". Rich has consistently placed at the top of his events all season. Overall Rich has 10 top-five finishes and has not finished lower than third in his last four events.
Up Next: The Wolfpack will head to Tallahassee, Fla. for the ACC Outdoor Championships set to run from May 14 through 16.
