Wolfpack in Second through Two Rounds at NCAA Regional

Second Round Results
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Following a second-round 277 (-3) which ranks as the Wolfpack's fourth best mark of the 2014-15 season, the NC State men's golf team improved from sixth to second Friday at the NCAA New Haven (Yale) Regional.
David Cooke (-3 on Friday), Carter Page (-2 on Friday), and James Chapman (E on Friday) each had very strong rounds to pace the Pack on a day when the team bested its Thursday score by 12 strokes. Each of these three Wolfpackers ranks within the top 12 of the tournament field.
The top five teams at each of the six NCAA Regionals will advance to the 2015 NCAA Golf Championship (May 29 -- June 3) at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. In addition to the advancing teams, the top individual golfer not on an advancing team will move on from each NCAA Regional to the NCAA Championship.

CRUSHING THE AVERAGE
The Course at Yale played an average score of 72.27 on Friday. NC State's four scoring golfers shot an average of 69.25 on the day.
NOW THAT'S A RALLY
Starting on the 10th hole like the rest of his teammates, Cooke recorded bogies on holes 11 and 12 to shoot +2 through his first nine holes on Friday. He impressively rallied after the turn, recording five birdies and four pars to finish with a team low round of 67 (-3).
STEADY AS HE GOES
Remaining incredibly consistent through the first two rounds of the competition, Carter Page is currently in second place in the entire tournament field with 29 pars. He is only two behind LSU's Benjamin Taylor, who has recorded 31.
ADDING TO THE LIST
With their scores of 67 and 68, respectively, Cooke and Page shot the 17th and 18th single rounds of 68 strokes or fewer achieved by the Wolfpack this season. Cooke leads the Pack with six rounds of 68 strokes or fewer.
TEEING OFF TOMORROW
Paired with South Florida and San Diego State, the Wolfpack will tee off from hole one Saturday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m. Colby Lyles will get things started for the Pack while Stanhope Johnson (8:56), Chapman (9:07), Cooke (9:18), and Page (9:29) will follow.
